parallel software package provides build and execute command lines from standard input in parallel, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install parallel
parallel is installed in your system.
Make ensure the parallel package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep parallel *
You will get with parallel package name, version, architecture and description in a table
